Firefox OS powered entry level phone, The Spice Fire One

After Intex introduced the Firefox OS in the Indian market at the entry level market segment, there is another player came forward to compete.
Spice Fire One is the next Firefox OS based smartphone available at a price of INR 2,399.
Spice Fire One is available exclusively trough Indian e-commerce website snapdeal.com, which I must admit that the world's most affordable and feature packed phone which will give you complete value for your money.

Today is a day where Android has gained such a popularity that it is really very tough for any other smartphone OS to challenge.
Even I can say that it has won the battle against Apple iOS within very short span of time.

  • 1GHz CPU
  • 128MB RAM
  • 1.3 MP camera

The look and appeal of the device:

The physical dimension of this devices reports 115.6x62x11.2mm as the dimensions and it weighs 104gm.
As per the current market's large screen devices, this phone has a quite larger display of 3.5 inch at a price tag of INR 2,399 or approximately $40USD.
Overall the look and design of this phone is quite appealing and the Firefox OS really adds value against the price tag.

Chipset: The core of the device

Spreadtrum chipsets are new to the market as Qualcomm, Mediatek, Nvidia Tegra and Exynos were mostly sitting in the core of most of the hand help smartphone devices around you.
Recently Spreadtrum and Mozilla joined hands to deliver the Open Web Devices to underserved audiences by introducing entry level phones.
They have a target to deliver entry level cost phones at a price of $25.
So depending on the price segment the chipset specification looks really great but yes this will give you the true value for money.

Final words:

As far as I know this is the second phone that is being powered by the Firefox OS.
The Intex Cloud FX is t he first firefox based OS that was launched at INR 1,999.

Is it really worth to spend 500 rupees more for Spice Fire One by not chosing the Intex Cloud FX???
Even the Spice Fire One has a 1.3 camera against the 2.0 camera of Intex Cloud FX.
The only benefit I can see is the 1400 mAh battery is little bit more than the Intex Cloud FX.

Having made the above points I strongly suggest to go for the Intex Cloud FX.
