[CUSTOM ROM] KitKat 4.4.2 AOSP ROM for Micromax Canvas HD A116

Officially Micromax Canvas HD comes with 4.2.1 Jellybean AOSP ROM.
Xda user hyperion70 has ported the KitKat 4.4.2 AOSP for Micromax Canvas HD A116.
The latest kernel version is 3.4.67 that has SELinux support too.

- The new kernel Linux version 3.4.67
- Compiled from Linaro GCC 4.9.2 Toolchain.
- Modules are integrated into the kernel

Pre-requisites for this installation:
- KitKat AOSP ROM for Micromax Canvas HD A116
- ROM MIRROR LINK
- Recovery flashable Camera fix patch
- Custom recovery

Installing AOSP ROM on Micromax Canvas HD:

STEP 1:

Copy the ROM package on your phone's SD card.

STEP 2:

Boot into recovery.

STEP 3:

Flash the ROM zip package using the custom recovery

STEP 4:

Reboot your phone and check out the AOSP ROM

Hi Timothy sedero,
I am sorry for the inconvenience.

This link works fine on PC but it really requires the Mega application to be installed on your device when you are accessing it on your phone.

This is what I observed.
Correct me if I am wrong.

The camera patch is a recovery flashable zip package.
It can be installed the same way as the ROM zip installation procedure.

Hey Addy, I have searched the thread and found that I have provided the working cam patch.
But users are reporting some camera hardware bugs on newer devices.

I will recommend you to visit the forum thread to find a possible solution on this.

I am trying this in my canvas hd. But I have problem in it. Both sim not works at the same time.
If I enable 3g sevice of any sim then only that perticular sim shows network. please help me out about this issue.

Hi,

Thank you for this post. I got my canvas hd os updated to 4.4.

But my mtnl/bsnl sim does not work properly. The range keeps on going and coming back.
Another tata docomo sim works fine.
I also tried to swap the sim locations, but nothing changed.

Please suggest how to fix this issue.

Hi,

I have already applied this patch. Sorry, forgot to mention that in my previous comment.
Still the range is not stable. I am not saying the signal is dead all the time. It keeps of fluctuating.

Any other solution to this problem? Please help.

Thanks a lot Infysim.org! That link was very helpful! It solved my network problem :-):-)

For those who still have network problem even after flashing with CM11 patch, follow the steps mentioned in the above link.

I am summarizing them below -
1. Flash your device with CM11 patch, if not already done (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2977778&d=1413779812). (Before rebooting check point 2)
2. Make sure you have root access. If not, flash your device with SuperSu (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2979093&d=1413864798). Now reboot.
3. Open any file browser with root permissions, like ES Explorer.
Navigate to /device/data/nvram folder and move all the files/folders in it to some location in your sd card. (You don't need those files. This is just for backup. I deleted those files infact!)
3. Now restart your phone. After restarting, the signal range may not appear in your notification panel for a minute or so. But don't panic. This is only for the first time. It will soon appear & would be rock solid at its full strength after that !!!
