How to manually update the CyanogenMod 12 OTA update OnePlus One

We had notified all probable news related to OnePlus One CyanogenMod 12S update.
Yes it has got delayed but now the official build is right here and we will present how you can update that manually.

Files needed for this installation:

- Make sure you have at least 50% battery and CM11S 05Q(rooted or stock, both will work)
- Official CM 12S download link
- Official CM 12S TORRENT MIRROR link
- Official CM 12S Android file host MIRROR link

- IF THESE LINKS ARE NOT WORKING THEN HEAD OVER TO THE SOURCE LINK IN THE END OF THE POST TO GET MORE MIRROR LINKS

Installing CyanogenMod 12S Official build:

STEP 1:

Copy the ROM zip file to your phone(By using a USB cable or via adb push command).

STEP 2:

Enter into recovery mode by pressing your device specific key combinations.
Or else if you are on a pc, then type the following command:

$ adb reboot recovery

STEP 3:

Wipe system partition, cache, data (Factory Reset)

STEP 4:

Select the Install Zip from SDcard option.
Select the CyanogenMod 12 ROM file, let the installation complete and then reboot.

OnePlus One CyanogenMod 12S started rolling out via OTA updates

Recently we had posted that the CyanogenMod 12S update is coming for OnePlus One.

So it will not be really surprising if we will say that the CyanogenMod 12S updates started rolling out.

Depending on the geographical reason someone will get the update early and someone may get little late.
Still hold your breathe, because it's better late than never.
It's the moment of joy for them who have got the update and a little more wait for those who have not yet got the update.

There was a buzz that Indian OnePlus One users will not get the CM12S update.
But Carl Pei, Co-founder of OnePlus has stated on twitter that Indian OnePlus One users will get the updates like others. See the below tweet:

Couple of days back we told you that CyanogenMod 12S is just on the way to your OnePlus One.

Couple of days back I told you that the CM 12S is coming to your device very soon but was not known when.

where he says that the delay is because of the changes made in Google's test suite and the Official CyanogenMod 12S update will be pushed via OTA to the users when they will get the mail from Google.

First look of Oxygen OS on OnePlus One

The Oxygen OS 1.0 for OnePlus One does not came as an OTA but we had captured the whole installation guide right here.

OxygenOS is essentially a stock build of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
The only changes here to the stock experience are the addition of gestures on the lock screen, a built-in file manager app, and the ability to organize quick toggle settings.
And, you can also set a specific lock screen wallpaper apart from your home screen wallpaper.

Below is a video that shows Oxygen OS in action, but as the reviewer says it would be better to wait for the Official CyanogenMod 12 to see all the surprises.
Even it could be possible that OnePlus will pack more features just to take CyanogenMod down... But, is this really possible???

Installing Oxygen OS:

STEP 1:

Copy the ROM zip file to your phone(By using a MTP mode or via adb push command).

STEP 2:

Enter into recovery mode by holding down both the volume down key and the power button key combinations.
Or else if you are on a pc installed with fasboot and ADB binaries, then type the following command:

$ adb reboot recovery

STEP 3:

the first thing you want to do is a factory reset.

NOTE:
This step will delete all your user data.
Consider backup your data out of your phone from the below link or from other source.

STEP 4:

After the wipe, go to install and find oxygenos_1.0.0.flashable.zip. Then confirm flash.

Android Lollipop had memory leak issue in 5.0.x versions which has got resolved in 5.1 Android Lollipop.
Although OnePlus One users have native CyanogenMod support, but still cm 12.1 update is miles away.

Installing CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM:

STEP 1:

Copy the ROM and GApps zip file to your phone(By using a USB cable or via adb push command).

STEP 2:

Enter into recovery mode by pressing your device specific key combinations.
Or else if you are on a pc, then type the following command:

$ adb reboot recovery

STEP 3:

Wipe system partition, cache, data and dalvik cache (Only if you are coming from KitKat)

STEP 4:

Select the Install Zip from SDcard option.
Select the CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM file, let the installation complete and then reboot.
Complete the initial setup, reboot to recovery and then flash the GApps package and reboot again to enjoy Android Lollipop with CyanogenMod.
