Nexus series devices are the first to get the latest versions of Android.
Last year at the same time Google announced a new Nexus phone with LG flagship, the Nexus 4 and this year also there is one announcement of the Nexus 5 with the Google and LG flagship.

Key Features of Nexus 5 :

Hardware Specifications :
Definitely at a cheaper price you cannot expect each and everything new in a device over it's predecessors. But still there are so many more latest things in the Nexus 5 with the latest hardware specifications.
The best thing in the hardware spec which the author liked the most as in case of the NOTE III is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU bundled with the device; because of the speed that the CPU offers.

Outlook of Nexus 5:
The dimensions of Nexus 5 is 137.84 x 69.17 x 8.59 mm (H x W x T) and it weighs 130 grams which is slimmer and lighter than the previous version of Nexus streamlined devices.
It has a Full HD (1920x1080) display resolution and 445 ppi packed IPS LCD display which is an advancement as compared to the predecessor.
Camera details:
- It has an 8 Megapixels front facing camera with Optical Image Stabilization and Photo sphere.
-
Abbreviated as OIS, optical image stabilization is the apparatus, contained within a digital camera or other digital recording device, that compensates in real-time for shaking and vibrating while recording.
Because OIS is a real-time compensation there is no alterations or image degradation to the image. -
Photo Sphere is a new Android feature that was introduced in Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
It allows for the creation of street view-like panoramic images using the back camera of any device with the correction operating system version.
It uses the gyroscope to determine the rotation of the camera, and tells the person holding the device to go up, down, left, or right in order to get the needed images.
Once it has the images, it creates the Photo Sphere. - It captures 1080p @30fps.
- Secondary camera is of 1.3MP.

commentsWhat your view about 2300 mAh battery?
ReplyIs it enough for such big screen and processor???
See... it depends on the usage, The OS power management design and i believe it really does not rely on The Processor.
ReplyI believe the more processing capability you have more quicker the Processor finishes the Job and enters into IDLE mode.
For example the Nexus 4 has a 2100 mAh battery and it has a 1.5 GHz quad core processor, but most of the times when the screen is turned off it enters into DeepSleep mode.
Whenever it requires processing i found that most of the time it runs on 300 MHz speed(Unless until you are going to play some games), because the CPU governor detects that there is not much load on the processor.
Finally Nexus 4 was designed in such a way to maintain the Temperature and Performance in a balanced manner (Thermal throttling).
Find the below link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2144652
Thermal throttling reduces the CPU frequency when CPU temp. reaches to a threshold.
When you will be unlocking these stuffs, then performance of the device may effect battery life.
Ofcourse the resolution will effect the battery consumption but not much.
ReplyThe battery power consumed by a screen is due to the LEDs behind the screen and not the resolution.
