It was officially announced at Google I/O back in June, and now it has been finally launched.
Devices labeled as Android One will be produced by three major OEMs in India:
- Spice Mobile
- Karbonn
- Micromax
The recently unveiled smartphones will ship with a quad-core 1.3 GHz Mediatek CPUs, two cameras (5 MP rear and 2 MP front) and a solid 1 GB of RAM.
All of the deices will have an SDcard slot and two SIM card slots.
Each and every phone will come with a user-replaceable battery unlike the Nexus series devices.
Smartphones will be running a slightly customized version of Android with some regional enhancements, for example the FM Radio.
This is almost equivalent to Moto G/E line of devices.
Google promised to bring updates to the upcoming Android L when it becomes available.
